April 18, 2014 – William Barnett, 20, and Alyssa Grenier, 19, both of Stafford Springs, Connecticut have died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained in a car accident. Barnett was driving a minivan, which was struck by a tractor trailer. Grenier was a passenger in the van. The accident occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Framingham.
According to police, Barnett’s van spun out of control prior to the truck colliding with the passenger’s side of the vehicle. Both Barnett and Grenier were pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was taken by ambulance to Metro West Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police have not yet determined the cause of the accident, but are considering weather as a contributing factor. The accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.
