July 22, 2013 – Martin Stoesser, 50, of Chicago, Illinois, and his ten year old daughter sustained life threatening personal injuries when Stroesser’s van was struck head on by a pickup truck driven by Jason Frazier, 27, of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. The accident occurred last Tuesday in Eastham, Massachusetts at the intersection of Herring Brook Road and McKoy Road.

Stoesser and his daughter were air lifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was listed in good condition as of Thursday. The hospital did not release an update on the daughter’s status. Three of Stoesser’s other passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital.

According to the Eastham Police Department, officers found several pills of the prescription drug Xanax in Frazier’s truck and on his person after the accident. He was arraigned on Thursday in Orleans District Court and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and was subsequently charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, and a tire tread depth infraction.

The accident remains under investigation.
