Brighton, Massachusetts: Watertown Man Killed in 3 Car Crash on Massachusetts Turnpike

May 29, 2015: Arkloo Wong, 81, of Watertown, Massachusetts, has died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained when he was struck by a passing vehicle operated by Joseph Coury, 30, of Brighton. Wong was standing in the roadway of the Massachusetts Turnpike, exchanging paperwork with another driver, William Hamilton, 73, of Worcester, due to a minor collision, which had occurred moments earlier. The car accident took place near the Allston-Brighton tolls late on Friday night.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Wong and Hamilton had stopped their vehicles in the right active travel lane, and were standing behind Wong’s car. Coury’s car then approached the stopped vehicles, and struck Wong. According to police, Wong was pronounced dead at the scene. Coury was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for treatment, and Hamilton was not injured.

No charges have been filed to date, and the accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.
