Stoughton, Massachusetts: 21 Year Old Passenger Dies in Car Accident

November 19, 2015: Fabricio Tavares, 21, of Brockton, Massachusetts, has died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained after he was ejected from the passenger seat of his friend’s car.  The accident occurred at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2015.

Danielson Dacostatavares, 20, also of Brockton, was driving the vehicle north on Route 24 in Stoughton, when he swerved right and collided with a rock ledge adjacent to the roadway.  Tavares was ejected from the car and then struck by six other vehicles.

Massachusetts State Police were the first to respond and found Tavares in the road. Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and transported Tavares and Dacostatavares to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, where Tavares was pronounced dead and Dacostatavares was treated for minor injuries.  Two other men involved in the crash were also injured.

Dacostatavares is facing multiple charges including motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, operating under the influence of alcohol, and a marked lanes violation.  Dacostatavares has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court on December 8, 2015.
