Veteran Killed in Holyoke Motorcycle Crash

October 13, 2014 – Patrick Rud, 32, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, has died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash.  The accident occurred on Friday, October 3, 2014, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Route 5 in Holyoke.

According to Holyoke Police Department, Rud was riding his motorcycle on Route 5 when he collided with two other vehicles.  Rudd was declared dead at the scene of the accident and several occupants of the other vehicles were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Rud was employed as a weapons technician in the 104th Fighter Wing and was stationed at the Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield.

No charges have been filed and the matter remains under investigation by the Holyoke Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
