Wareham, Massachusetts: One Dead and One Injured in Route 25 Accident

April 16, 2015: Last night, Timothy Melcher II, 24, of Cotuit, Massachusetts, died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained when the van he was traveling in overturned on Route 25 in Wareham.  The name of the second occupant, known to be a 20 year old man from Wareham, has not yet been released.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, the driver of the van lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over.  Both men were ejected from the vehicle.  Melcher was pronounced dead at the scene.  The second man was also seriously injured, and was transported by medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The police have not yet determined the cause of the crash, or which man was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.  The van the men were driving belongs to Able Restoration, a Brockton based disaster restoration company.  Melcher leaves behind a fiancé, and two young children.

The State Police’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section are assisting with the investigation.  As of today, no criminal charges have been filed.
