Berkshire County encompasses the western border of Massachusetts and is home to the Berkshire Hills. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Berkshire County has a population of 134,000 and has a total area of 946 square miles (2,451 km²). Berkshire County borders Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties to the east.
