Dukes County is comprised of the island of Martha’s Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Dukes County has a population of 14,987 and has a total area of 491 square miles, of which only 104 square miles is land. Dukes County borders Nantucket County to the east and Barnstable County to the northeast.
