April 28, 2015: April 26, Ashley Hartung, 31, of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, died as the result of serious personal injuries sustained when the car she was traveling in, struck the guardrail in the southbound lane of Interstate 495, near exit 17. Hartung’s sister, Crystal Legassey, 30, of Oxford, was driving the car, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
According to Massachusetts State Police Trooper Michael Bartucca, Hartung was killed on impact, and pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders from the Franklin Fire Department transported Legassey to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where she received treatment for her injuries.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the State Police’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section, in conjunction with the Norfolk County State Police Detective Unit.
