Leominster, Massachusetts: Nine people Injured after Multi-Vehicle Accident

August 13, 2014 – James Barrett, 26, of Leominster, Massachusetts, and eight other people have sustained serious personal injuries as the result of a four vehicle car accident.  The accident happened on Sunday, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Lancaster Street in Leominster.

According to the Leominster Police Department, Barrett was evading police he collided with another vehicle at a high rate of speed.  This collision caused the car he struck to enter the opposite lane of travel and crash with an oncoming vehicle.  In an attempt to avoid that collision, a fourth vehicle swerved and struck a brick wall.  Barrett was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center and the eight other injured individuals were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.

No charges have been filed and the matter remains under investigation by the Lancaster and Leominster Police Departments, and the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.
