Randolph, Massachusetts: 18 Injured in MBTA bus Accident

August 13, 2014 – A car driven by Stephen Griswold, 30, of Franklin, Massachusetts collided with a MBTA bus in Randolph, causing eighteen people to sustain serious personal injuries.  The accident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 10:40 a.m. on North Main Street.

According to the Randolph Police Department, Griswold was travelling south on North Main Street, when he suddenly crossed into the northbound lane and hit the bus head on.  Eighteen people were injured, but only thirteen were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Griswold was taken into custody by the MBTA Transit Police and charged with operating under the influence of drugs.  Griswold is expected to be arraigned on the charges in Quincy District Court.  The accident remains under investigation.
